Estonia Country Guide

Estonia is the smallest of the Baltic countries, but it makes its presence felt in the tourist map with the exquisite beauty of the place. The lovely seaside towns, marshlands, forests, and quaint country villages is the perfect setting for a serious traveler. The relics of the rich cultural past of the country can be visible in many of the places. The country is known for medieval splendor, pristine islands, magnificent castles, and for a cosmopolitan capital. In the last decade, the county has unveiled itself from darkness, as now it is one of the hottest tourist destinations in Europe.

The country is a perfect blend of medieval charm and the modern style. There are thick forests and coastlines that enable the traveler to have different experiences. From Tallinan to Tartu, one can see different things; the bucolic landscapes, spiritual centers, and the lush forests are the symbol of the country. The iconic windmills, clean beaches, and 19th century lighthouses are quite charming and lure the tourists. There are many things that attract a tourist in the county and many of them are unique to the land.

The country is situated in the eastern shores of the Baltic Sea just across the Gulf of Finland. The long coast of the county offers a lot of activities along the shores in the summer season. The hill areas and the meadows offer much variety to the traveler and a cruise through the inland waters gives you enormous charm. There are options for water sports and winter sports. The lush green forests and the sweet songs of birds and the welcome smile of the flowers are mesmerizing things for a visitor.

Like all the Baltic States, the county has come to the limelight only after the breakup of the erstwhile Soviet Union. The country has suffered a lot from the clutches of the Nazis and the Soviets and now the people are ever relaxed and are quite conscious of their rich culture and past heroics. Estonia is not a celebrated place like France, Italy or Spain, but it is one of the most beautiful places in the continent.

Estonia is undoubtedly one of the best countries in Europe for a traveler. The country is relatively safe for a tourist and the crime rates are pretty low. There are excellent hotels, restaurants and nightclubs in the city that add charm to your tour.
