More than 1 million guests have stayed at the legendary Grandhotel Starý Smokovec during its rich history. Nowadays you can pamper body and soul in its modern wellness centre featuring a swimming pool, a whirlpool, a Finnish Sauna, a steam bath and many more facilities.
Gourmet cuisine has always been a strong asset of the Grandhotel Starý Smokovec. The chef and his experienced team prepare delicious game, fish and other specialities and a huge selection of pastry and desserts. Special wishes like vegetarian food, Jewish or gluten-free dishes and others will gladly be accommodated. Besides the Rondo Hall restaurant there is also an inviting coffee bar and a night bar.
Near to the hotel you can find the station of the funicular to the Hrebienok ski resort (1236 metres above sea level) and various ski and toboggan tracks. The hotel is situated 200 metres from the railway station and 300 metres from the SAD station (Slovak Bus Company).

Area information
Apart from Starý Smokovec, which is the oldest mountain resort in the High Tatras, there are several other interesting places to visit.
Strbske Pleso is a very nice holiday and health resort with a scenic lake and provides running tracks, ski slopes, ski jumps and a children’s park with a trampoline, boats and toy cars.
From Tatranska Lomnica you can ascend to the second-highest peak of the High Tatras - to Lomnický štít (Lomnický peak). Here you find the TANAP (Tatra National Park) museum and a summer and winter toboggan track.
Ždiar - a settlement with typical folk architecture is a great place for all who are interested in the history of the region.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 6 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All children from 3 to 12 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: 19 % VAT is included.
