The four stars Minos Mare Hotel is a modern resort directly at the beach of Platanias, with a spectacular view over the emerald-blue waters of the northern Cretan coastline.
Our complex consists of apartments and accommodation in the main building, surrounded by local and tropical flora and flowers of all colours.
Minos Mare is conveniently located just 4 km away from the centre of Rethymno, 83 Km for Heraklion International Airport and 75 Km. from the airport of Chania-Souda.

The Minos Mare Hotel has introduced a Quality Management System (ISO 9001), which was firstly certified in 1998. In 2002 we received the Qualification for HACCP (Food Safety Management System).
Our beach is also qualified with the Blue Flag, proof of our limpid, safe to swim, beach.

Travel information
Centrally situated Rethymno, on the northern coast of Crete, being right between Heraklion and Chania, is the ideal starting point for almost any destination in Crete. Rethymno is linked to the rest of the world through the Heraklion (80 Kms) and Chania (65 Kms) airports, about an hour drive away by car. There is also daily direct ferry connection from and to Piraeus (Athens), about 11 hours voyage by ferryboat. Minos Mare Hotel is only 4 Km away from the city centre.
